Death Valley

On Friday we left Bakersfield and headed through Tehachapi over to highway 14 that connects to 395.  What a beautiful ride!  Then we got on 190 that winds through the Panamint Mountains over to Death Valley.  We stopped at Father Crowley Point to take pictures, and then landed in Stovepipe Wells to camp.

Talk about HOT!!!   It was cool going over the mountains, but at Stovepipe Wells it was 100 and really miserable setting up camp.  Once we got the camper up, we headed straight to the bar for beer and to sit in the air conditioning.

It cooled off at night, and there were a million stars.  There was no cell service, so we couldn't use the "star app" to see what we were looking at, but it was beautiful just the same!
