Changing Plans

Today we left Bakersfield and had a SPECTACULAR ride on CA-58 from Buttonwillow to Santa Margarita.  Oh was it beautiful!   Not as green as it should have been, but the curves and the overlooks were breathtaking.

We rode to Atascadero to get gas and lunch.  I tried to call the RV park in Marina to get a reservation, and they said they were all booked up.  Several other RV parks in the area were booked up as well. YIKES.  I'm glad we didn't start over to the coast and find we didn't have a place to stay. (Friday night, spring break, etc).  So, we found a BEAUTIFUL park in Greenfield; it's on 101 - not the PCH, but it was a nice ride.  If you're ever passing through - it's called Yank's and it's first class - all paved, concrete sites, really nice.

So, tomorrow we'll head over to Carmel via Carmel Valley Road and ride about 200 miles to Mill Valley to see Andrew and Doug.  One of the employees here at the RV park recommended the road - it's curvey and over the mountains through the Ventana Wilderness - it should be a great ride.  Can't wait.

More tomorrow.....
