We left Hart Ranch on Sunday the 20th. Saying goodbye to everyone was tough, but we'll see them next year.
We headed first to Buffalo, WY. We love that area in the Bighorns. We stayed at the Deer Park Campground for two nights, so that we could take the loop through the Bighorns. We stopped in Ten Sleep for lunch - the saloon is closed on Mondays, so we tried the Coyote Cafe next door. Good burger, and they had a patio for a beautiful fall day.

Then we headed to Pine Bluffs, WY and stayed one night at Harvest Host Pine Bluffs Distillery. What a great place (after driving the washboard road to get there!). We bought LOTS of Vodka and Bourbon (all made with local grains) to give to the kids as gifts when we get home. Great stay! Mike has rigged up an inverter for one bank of outlets, and it worked great.

From there we headed to North Platte, and met the Ralstons, Whites, and Wilkinsons for supper. We had a good visit, but forgot to get pictures!
On the way to Oklahoma, we passed through Abilene, Kansas. We stayed two nights - I wanted to see the Eisenhower Library, but it was closed due to Covid. Instead, we walked around the grounds (beautiful), saw the Greyhound Hall of Fame (!) (many greyhound breeders in Kansas; who knew!), and Old Abilene town. It was fun, the RV park wasn't fancy but was nice.

From there we headed to Jay, Oklahoma. We're trying out RPI parks along the way to see if we want to renew our membership next year. We stayed at Pine Island RV Resort, which was tucked away far out in the country overlooking a big lake. This is all Cherokee Nation land, and I chose this park because it had sewer hookups. The other one (Eagles Landing) in Grove looked nicer as we drove by, but hookups weren't guaranteed.
We are so spoiled at Hart Ranch! This place was ok, but the sites were overgrown, uneven (we used all of our leveling blocks under the wheels and jacks), and there was trash on the hillsides all over. They also evidently don't have any rules about keeping stuff around your camper, so some of the full time sites were pretty junky.

From Jay we drove to Shirley, AR, and stayed at the Golden Pond RV Park. This is also an RPI park, owned by a nice young family. They are mainly Coast to Coast, and are striving to make this a C2C Premier park. They have a lot of full timers renting sites by the month here, and some of the spots look a little junky, but the spot we're on is nice.
