August 2024

It's been a busy month so far, and it's only the 15th!   I can't believe that summer is almost over and in a little more than a month I'm heading east.  This summer has gone by quickly, and I'm so glad to have been so busy.

Carol Asheim and I had a girls day.  We met Sally for lunch at the Gaslight, and then Carol and I went up into the hills to the Pathways Spiritual Sanctuary just outside of Rochford.  I had never heard of it, but Carol had been there before.

This is from their website:

Pathways Spiritual Sanctuary is a quiet, safe, sacred place

where visitors can spend time walking, sitting, contemplating, reading, writing, reflecting or healing in the natural landscape of the sacred Black Hills of South Dakota.

The theme of Pathways is “Beyond Belief” as it is a place that is beyond the diversity of beliefs, race, religion, culture, personal histories and life experiences. It is open to all who choose to visit. Within the Sanctuary, all can walk as one and honor the sacredness of all forms of life and Mother Earth.

I highly recommend everyone go there.  It was so peaceful, and very spiritual.  It was a beautiful day, and you'd never know that Sturgis was going on - lots of bikes were in Rochford.

Then we went to the Moonshine Gulch Saloon in Rochford to have a beer.  Mike and I had been there before, so I had to get a picture!

Last Monday, Kevin and Marita asked me to join them at the Alpine Inn for supper.  Who could say no?!

Dessert was heavenly!

Tuesday I drove to North Platte to have supper with the Whites, Wilkinsons and Deb Ralston.  I can't believe we forgot to take a picture!!!  It was good to see everyone.  It's only been a little over a month since Lee passed, so I know Deb is still very raw and emotional.

Sturgis 2024

Today Anne and I had a girls day in Sturgis.  It officially kicks off tomorrow, 8/2, but Annette opened her booth today, and I wanted to see her before she got too busy.  She looks great, and it turns out that August 1st is her birthday!! She's 60!!

Anne and I had lunch at the Sturgis Brewery - which was nice, and then drove over the the Armory where Annette has her booth. (She's lucky to be indoors - it's going to be over 100 this weekend!!)
