Start of 2023 Road Trip

I'm starting a summer road trip - in the Jeep since I sold the motorhome - to try and find a new normal without Mike.  We'll see.

I left 6/28 and stopped overnight in Columbia to see Elaine and Chuck.  We hadn't seen them since we went through town in 2021, so it was great to see them!  We had a nice visit, and went out for supper.

Thursday I headed to Annapolis - traffic was TERRIBLE the whole way. I think people were getting an early start on 4th of July weekend.  When I finally got to Kim's it was definitely WINE TIME!!  She and Richard have lots planned while I'm here, so stay tuned.  Tonight we're going to Arlington to see Eric's band So Fetch.  I'm glad I have an opportunity to see them perform!

Life Without Mike

 It's been a difficult two months adjusting to life without him.  I expect it will take me a very long time to get to my new "normal".  I miss him so much.

In the meantime, I've reconnected with old friends (Debbie Rogers from High School tracked me down!!), and Celeste - we hadn't seen each other in a few years.  It's good to have these friendships nearby.  Debbie lives in Anderson, SC, so we've been meeting at the Cracker Barrel in Commerce.

Ella graduated (hard to believe already!), I sold the motorhome to Camping World (that was a very emotional process), and I'm planning a road trip for the summer.   I really need to get away, it's not good for me sitting here looking at his pictures and having pity parties.
