August 2020

This month has just flown by!

We started out going to Sturgis the week before the rally actually started.  We had lunch at our favorite spot - The Loud American - for steak tips and beer.  Then we walked around and bought a couple of shirts.

This guy was just riding up and down the street, music blaring.  How can he see with that mask on?

Cindy Hassoun was in town, so she and Rose and Warren Nelson came out for supper.  Anne stopped by, so we got a pic!

Yesterday, Susan and Scott treated us to another great day off road in the Black Hills.  There is some really spectacular scenery around here, and Scott knows so much about the area and the history.  He's a great tour guide.  It got really chilly at the end of the ride - FALL IS IN THE AIR!

Our picnic by the creek.

View from the old fire lookout station. That ranch is an old stop for the Cheyenne to Deadwood Stage.

At the top of the old fire lookout station.  Scott said it's just 7' shorter than Harney Peak.

Scott describes this as "Interesting".  I call it REALLY ROCKY!

July 2020

We had a couple of doozy hail storms in July with golf ball sized hail!   We got really lucky - the only damage is some dimples on the Jeep and a broken tail light on the motorhome.   People all around us had smashed windshields, vents, skylights and big dents!

On the 26th we drove to Jackson Hole and met Ange for a couple of days.  It was a really quick trip, but we had a great time.  She had never been there, so we crammed in a drive through Teton National Park (along with a picnic), and a drive through the National Elk Refuge.  We didn't see very many critters, but there were TONS of people.  The place was packed!!  I much prefer it in the early spring when it's less crowded.   We stayed in one of the camper cabins at the KOA that we liked so well - right on the Snake River.  We had a great time!

Driving through downtown Jackson.  Traffic was terrible!

Great views!

This is our picnic spot!

Such a great day!
