Savannah Getaway Day 2

Today we went into town and walked along River street.  It was a nice day - warm and a little overcast.   We had a great seafood lunch on a balcony overlooking the river at Fiddler Crab's Seafood.  It was a nice day!!

Savannah Getaway

Last week we picked up the new motorhome from the dealer - they hadn't done anything to it yet - and put it in storage. (Neil and Pam's backyard is too muddy and soft to park there).

We decided to take a trip south and finish the shakedown on the rig, and then will return it to the dealer next week.  We told them we have to have it back - fixed - no later than March 1st as we'll be leaving for South Dakota mid-March - and I need time to pack and get ready!!

We're staying at a beautiful resort - called Creekfire Motor Ranch - and the weather is lovely.  We're supposed to get rain on Sunday - and it will be cooler - but not COLD like Dawsonville.  We head back on Tuesday.  We're really enjoying this, and are happy at how comfortable the new coach is!

Our campsite - nice long sites
View from our window - the rec building

The front entrance - I love the Spanish Moss in the trees

They have a nice pool, kiddie pool, and lots of activities

They have a nice trail around the lake - with a warning to watch for alligators!

There are some really nice sites facing the lake

New Year's at the Cabin

On Friday, we went to Katie's to get Livie so she could stay with us from the 28th to the 1st.  Katie, Mike and the rest of the kids flew to Denver on Friday night.  They rented a house with their friends for a week.  On the 1st, Livie and Barb are flying out to meet them.

We had a great time with Livie in spite of the rain.  On Saturday the weather was gorgeous so we took a hike on the new "Helen to Hardman Farm Trail".  It's almost two miles, and Livie walked about a mile of it.  She did really well.  It's on the other side of the river from the highway and has some nice views.  We also went downtown, and just about couldn't find a place to park. It's the busiest I've ever seen it!!

Sunday we went to Babyland General in Cleveland (home of the Cabbage Patch kids/dolls).  Not much to see there, but we got a cute picture of Livie and PawPaw in the sleigh.

Neil, Pam, and Jake came up for New Year's Eve.  It was all we could do to stay up until midnight, but we managed, and then after a toast, went right to bed.  We were all dragging on New Year's Day, and Livie was REALLY tired!

Everyone left today, and now we're napping.   We move out of the cabin and back home on Friday.  It's been a great two weeks.
