December 2011

Today is December 1st - Ella's birthday!  Happy Birthday Ella!  We are having tons of fun.

Here is a link to the pictures we're taking while in Georgia:   2011 Fall-Winter in Georgia

PawPaw may golf today - it's sunny and may be in the high 50's.
More later!

12/10:  This morning we left Neil and Pam's house at 7:30 on the bikes - my temp gauge said 32! - to lead the Reindeer Run 5k/10k race that was held in Dawsonville.   We led the runners on the track so that they'd know where to go.  It was fun, but COLD!

Santa Neil and Pam ready to lead the parade!

12/18:  Today we had a picnic and hiked in Smithgall Woods, a nature preserve close to Helen.  Chase, Ella, and Taylor hiked the two mile nature trail; we were really proud of them as the first part of the hike is quite steep uphill.   We had a great day!

12/25:   We had a wonderful Christmas in the cabin. Everybody was here and we had so much fun.  We played Trivial Pursuit until 3:00 a.m. - just being silly and laughing.  Click on the link above to see all of the pictures.  As usual, it was total chaos.  Here's a picture of what dinner is like:

Chase and Jake got BB pistols from PawPaw and Nanny Sue for Christmas, and so of course after dinner everyone had to go out and shoot them.  We lined beer cans along the dumpster fence.  Since it was dark and late, we were wondering if we'd find any dead deer the next morning on the golf course!

This week leading up to New Year's Eve we hope that as many as possible will stay with us.  Chase, Ella, and Taylor are staying Tuesday and Wednesday, and then the entire White family will be with us on Friday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

October/November 2011

The family at Leisure Acres

Hi!   We've been here at Leisure Acres in Cleveland, Georgia since October 4th.   We've been running up and down the road, going to the kids' ballgames, helping Neil and Pam with their room addition, and helping Angie and Scott with their kitchen remodel.

We've also been getting in lots of good motorcycle riding during the beautiful fall color season.

This is Thanksgiving week, and Neil, Pam, and Jake are camping right next to us.   Here are Neil, PawPaw and Jake frying the turkey. YUM!
